Abigail Tere-Apisah (PNG) created Pacific Oceania history on the 24th May 2014 when she reached the semi-finals of the NCAA National Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Centre on the University of Georgia Campus in Athens, Georgia.
Unseeded Tere-Apisah was eventually beaten in the semi-finals by Californian, Lynn Chi, 6-4, 3-6, 76(2). Tere-Apisah had a couple of chances to take out the match in the final set as Chi was down 5-4 and 6-5 but she rallied to tie the match on both occasions and eventually win her first 3rd set tie break of the post season.
