In the #1 Singles Katharina Lehnert, ranked 450 in the World, was too strong for Steffie Carruthers winning 60,62. Carruthers struggled to get her serve working with 5 double faults and a 57% 1st serve percentage and was always under pressure from her higher ranked opponent winning only 24 of the 78 points in the match.

Then in the crucial deciding doubles the Pacific Oceania team of Steffie Carruthers/Abigail Tere-Apisah got off to the perfect start breaking their opponent’s opening serve but they couldn’t sustain this momentum eventually losing the match to their Philippine opponents Khim Iglupas/Katharina Lehnert 64,63.
