Following the tsunami that devastated Tonga on the 18th January 2022, the OTF reached out to Tennis New Zealand to see how we could collectively assist Tennis Tonga with equipment to help them rebuild their tennis programmes. Ali Telford (Tennis New Zealand) picked up the challenged and engaged the New Zealand Tennis Community to donated new or used equipment. The result was overwhelming and with the help and assistance of Campus Security and Tennis Northern, close to 2 cubic metres of equipment is on its way to Tonga.
Racquets (113), Nets (11), soft racquet bags (34), balls (322), shoes (16), tops (310), shorts (52), skirts (20), Track suit pants (35) to name but a few.
