Pacific Oceania Team Play in Australian Open (AO) Asia/Pacific Elite U14 Event

Pacific Oceania players played in the recently completed Asia/Pacific Elite U14 Event during the Australian Open (AO). There were 10 players from Asia, including 5 boys and 5 girls, alongside players from Oceania, Australia, and New Zealand. The event was initially a round-robin format, culminating in semi-finals and finals.
The winners were Australian Ethan Domingo and Korea’s Siyeon Sim, who claimed the titles of Australian Open Asia-Pacific Elite 14/U champions on Friday, January 24, at Melbourne Park. Organized by Tennis Australia in collaboration with the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) and the Oceania Tennis Federation (OTF), this year was the 4th year that this event has been held. It brought together 16 top junior players from 11 Nations (China, Korea, Thailand, Australia, Korea, China, Kazakhstan, New Zealand and India). The event was attended by Australia’s Assistant Minister for International Affairs, Tim Watts, who had the honor of presenting trophies to the champions. Additionally, distinguished tennis officials, including OTF President Cyrille Mainguy and ATF President Yuriy Polskiy, awarded the positional awards.
Representing the Pacific Oceania Tennis Team were Alalilo Tepa (TUV) and Uraia Ratu (FIJ) with coaches Eddie Mera (PNG) and Ruby Coffin (FIJ).
