The Pacific Oceania Fed Cup Team of Abigail Tere-Apisah (PNG), Violet Apisah (PNG) Steffi Carruthers (SAM) , Carol Lee (NMI) and captain Gilles de Gouy (PYF) have today arrived in Astana, Kazakhstan to prepare for their 2019 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas, Asia/Oceania Zone Group I commencing next Wednesday 6th February at the indoor hard courts at the National Tennis Centre in Astana
There are 7 Nations competing with 3 (plus a Bye) in Pool A and 4 Nations in Pool B. One team will advance to the play offs in April. The teams that finishes 3rd in each Pool will play off against each other to determine which Nation will be relegated to Asia/Oceania II in 2020 with the team finishing 4th in Pool B will be automatically relegated.
The respective Pools are:
Pool A: Kazakhstan, India, Thailand
Pool B: China, Korea, Indonesia and Pacific Oceania
