The Pacific Oceania Davis Cup Team lost their opening Tie in Round Robin Pool play to the UAE 2-1.
In the opening singles #2, William O’Connell lost a tight 3 set match 6-4,3-6,6-3 to Mahmoud Nader Al Blooshi. This was followed by # 1, Gilles de Gouy losing to the UAE #1, Omar Khaled Al Awadhy 6-3, 6-3. In the doubles Brett Baudinet and Daniel Llarenas defeated Saoudi Khaled Alali and Hamad Janahi in a very tight 3 set match 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(8).
Tomorrow Pacific Oceania play Vietnam in their 2nd Pool Match.
