Pacific Oceania Davis Cup Team in Group III Relegation Pool

The Pacific Oceania Davis Cup Team lost their 3rd and Final Davis Cup Match Overnight and now are in the Relegation Pool to stay in Group III with 2 deciding relegation Ties on Saturday and Sunday respectively. they must win both of these to stay in Group III.

In their final 3rd pool Tie against Cambodia, they were beaten 2-1. In the opening # 2 singles, William O’ Connell lost to the # 2 from Cambodia, Panhara Mam, 6-2, 6-1. In the # 1 singles Gilles De Gouy fought extremely hard but eventually was beaten in 3 sets by the #1 singles player from Cambodia, Kenny Bun, 5-7, 6-4, 6-0. In the doubles, Brett Baudinet and Daniel Llarenas kept their winning streak intact by winning their 3rd doubles match in 3 days against the Cambodian Team of Panhara Mam and Phalkun Mam 6-1, 6-3.

The following are the Promotion Pool Promotion Pool Gr.III with the top 2 countries being promoted to Group II next year. Similarly the Relegation Pool Relegation Pool Gr.III with the bottom 2 countries being relegated to Group IV next year. Pacific Oceania are in the latter.
