Pacific Oceania Davis Cup Team Arrives in Colombo, Sri Lanka

The Pacific Oceania Davis Cup Team have arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka to play in the Asia/Oceania Group III Tie this week. The event is being played on clay at the Sri Lankan Tennis Association Courts in Colombo. The Pacific Oceania Team is:

  • Colin Sinclair (NMI)
  • Clement Mainguy (VAN)
  • Gillian Osmont (PYF)
  • Matavao Fanguna (TON)
  • Aymeric Mara (VAN)-player/captain.

There are 8 Nations competing: Saudia Arabia, Iran, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Pacific Oceania, Jordan and Vietnam. Today the 8 Nations were drawn into 2 Groups with Pacific Oceania the top seed in Group B. The round robin matches will be played Wednesday 26th- Friday 28th. Play Off Ties will eb played on Saturday 29th. 2 teams will be promoted and 2 relegated. The winners of each Pool will be directly promoted to compete in the World Group II Play Offs in 2024 and will play off for final positions (A1 vs B1). The 2nd team in each pool will play off to determine the 3rd promoted team (A2 vs B2). The bottom 2 teams in each group will compete in a play-off to determine the 2 teams relegated to compete in Asia/Oceania Group IV in 2024.
