OTF/ITF Appoints Development Coaches

The OTF/ITF have just appointed 2 coaches who will be assisting in the OTF/ITF 2023 Development Programme in Pacific Oceania. These are Gilles de Gouy (TAH) and Martin Setiawan (INA). Gilles de Gouy will be travelling to work with the Juniors and Coaches during the East Pafic Regional Championships (EPQ) in Apia Samoa from the 17th-24th April; then he will travel to Pago Pago, American Samoa from the 24th-27th April; then from the 1st-7th May in Papeete, Tahiti.

Martin Setiawan will similarly travel to Guam and work with their Juniors and Coaches during the North Pacific Regional Championships from the 24th April-2nd May. he will then travel to Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands from the 3rd-9th May.

The purpose of the programme is to assist and support the respective Nations in their Junior Development in the work that he will be doing with players, coaches and other stakeholders. As part of this first project, a 12&U Training Camp will be run for all players involved in the 12&U East Pacific Regional Championships as well as other junior players. Throughout the project the coaches will be working with the respective National Associations in assessing the following Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):
• Number of unique players
• Number of entries in Tennis10’s competitions
• Number of tennis facilities (schools & clubs)
• Number of deliverers delivering sessions (schoolteachers)
• Number of deliverers delivering sessions (coaches)
