ITF and World Academy of Sport Offer Athlete Scholarships to National Associations

The ITF has today announced a partnership with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) to offer educational and personal development opportunities for junior players.
WAoS has created a significant scholarship programme which includes 100 WAoS Athlete Certificate scholarships per ITF National Association, with a total value of US$40 per scholarship.

This online course is aimed at athletes aged 15-18 years old and aims to provide an understanding and tools for young people beginning their journey as professionals. It will provide information on elements including: • Support team and relationships
• Values and integrity in sport
• Health and wellbeing (including mental health)
• Social media and the media
• Your journey as an athlete

The online course will only take 4.5 hours to complete, it can be done in the player’s own time, and will hopefully be a valuable resource for personal development.

Next Steps:
Each National Association will be able to offer this to up to 100 junior players. You will need to register your interest with WAoS here. Using the “contact us” button. You will then be provided with a unique login code which can be redeemed up to 100 times, players will then simply need to register and enrol on the course and provide the log-in code. Any player wishing to undertake the course will need to enrol by 31 December 2020, the course can be completed after that date, but registration must be completed prior to this deadline.

Please contact riaan.kruger@itftennis.com if you have any further questions and we look forward to offering this personal development opportunity to thousands of players.
