Pacific Tennis Federation is seeking a Tennis Professional with an internationally recognised certification to develop their tennis structure in association with their National Olympic Committee.
The Federated States of Micronesia is a group of islands in the North Pacific Ocean. The governing body of Tennis (FSM Tennis Association) seeks a suitably qualified coach to assist with the development of their structure across the four island states (Kosrae, Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap) in this region over a 3-4 month period in 2016 potentially starting May 2016.
The successful candidate will be a positive and energetic person capable of delivering tennis to all levels of players both juniors and adults. Strong interpersonal skills are a must as the position involves working predominantly players of beginner and intermediate level.
There will be a focus on developing the following programs across Micronesia:
- Introduction to Tennis in Schools
- Regular competition for 10 and under tennis using modified equipment (Hotshots / Play and Stay)
- Club coaching program at the main Federation venue’s in Pohnpei and Kosrae.
- Development of a National Squad to compete in overseas competition.
Any background in coach education would be desirable, as the Federation would like to develop workshops for School Teacher’s and Community Tennis Leaders to continue to increase participation throughout the region in collaboration with the successful candidate.
The FSM National Olympic Committee will provide the following:
- Airfare
- Accommodation
- Insurance
- equipment
A monthly retainer would be paid of around $2000 USD (Approximately $2,800 AUD)
