Abigail Tere Apisah has perfect start in Australian Open 2018 Asia-Pacific Wildcard Play-OFF

Abigail Tere-Apisah, with a current career high ranking of 334,  has had the perfect start in Singles and Doubles in the Australian Open 2018 Asia-Pacific Wildcard Play-Off in Zhuhai, China.

In her first round singles match she has comprehensively beaten the 3rd seed, Junri Namigata (JPN) currently ranked 236, 6-2,6-1. Namigata previously had a career high ranking of 105.WS – AWP – Wednesday

Then Abigail and her Japanese Doubles partner, Erika Sema beat the Japanese pairing of Momoko Kobori/Ayano Shimizu in their 1st round doubles match 6-4,3-6, 10-7 WD – AWP – Wednesday to move into the quarter-finals which will be played today AWP – Order of Play Thursday 30 November

This event is open to all Nationals from the Asia/Pacific Region with a Singles Ranking of 109+ for women or 105+ for men(excluding Australians). There is no applicable cut-off for Doubles so all Asia/Pacific players are eligible
