There were a total of 248 entries in the 2015 Fiji Tattslotto Open Tennis Championships from 27th-31st May at the Sheraton Golf and Racquet Club.
Players from 11 Countries (American Samoa; Australia; New Caledonia; Fiji; Kiribati; Marshall Islands; New Zealand; Samoa; Solomon Islands; Turkey and Vanuatu) took part in 338 matches over the 5 tournament days on the 10 courts.
The Men’s and Women’s Singles heralded two local first-time Champions in William O’ Connell and Annie Shannon with William O’Connell going one better than his runner up position in the 2013 final against Cyril Jacobe
In the Men’s Singles Final US-based coach, William O’ Connell(FIJ) was too strong for his Samoan opponent, Marvin So’onalole(SAM) winning comfortably in a score of 6-4,6-2. The Ladies Open Singles pitted two Fijian players in the final with Annie Shannon(FIJ) defeating Mulan Kamoe(FIJ) 6-4,4-6,6-2
The Men’s and Ladies Doubles were won respectively by Daneric Hazleman(FIJ)/William O’Connell(FIJ) and Victory Leavai(SAM)/Lorraine Banimataku(VAN).
