107th Tennis Fiji Open a Resounding Success

After 317 matches in 31 events over 5 days in temperatures continually at 30C, the Fiji Open played on both natural and artificial grass finally came to a close last Sunday.

The Tennis Fiji Open is one of the few events globally where Open, Senior Age Group, Social and Junior Events are held simultaneously.

Tarani Kamoe (FIJ), emulated the feat she achieved 2 years ago in 2012 by winning the Ladies open Singles against Lucy Wood (AUS) 6-2, 6-4.

Then Australian, Steve Loeffler, completed the double by winning the 35 Men’s Singles plus also the Men’s Open Singles against Titi Bira (KIR) in a one-sided match 6-1, 6-0

Perhaps the star of the event and an outstanding future prospect was Clement Mainguy (VAN). Aged only 11 years with a racquet almost the same size as he is, he won the 13 Boys Singles, the 15 Boys Singles and the 15 Boys Doubles and only dropping 1 set in the 15 Boys Doubles in the whole event.
