Commonwealth Youth Games

APIA, SAMOA- 5th-11th SEPTEMBER 2015

Up to 1000 young Commonwealth athletes aged 14-18 competed in the 5th Commonwealth Youth Games. They were vying for 107 Gold Medals in 9 sports over 5 days. The sporting events, comprising  Aquatics (Swimming), Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Lawn Bowls, Rugby Sevens, Squash, Tennis and Weightlifting were held across 2 sporting complexes in Apia.

 27 countries entered the tennis event, with Amy Elliott/Courtney Grube (Norfolk Island) winning the Bronze Medal in the Girls Doubles; Simoana Ruepena/Lyla Tapusoa(Samoa) winning the Silver medal in the same event and (Violet Apisah/Matthew Stubbings (Papua New Guinea) winning the Bronze Medal in the Mixed Doubles. Violet Apisah (Papua New Guinea) also won the Bronze Medal in the Girls Singles.
