Pacific Oceania U14 Girls Play in Sri Lanka

For the last week, the Pacific Oceania U14 Girls have been playing in the 2024 World Junior Tennis (WJT) Teams Event in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Playing for Pacific Oceania were Colita Hakena (PNG), Alexandria Chand (FIJI), Maryallyson Vaai (SAM) and Ruby Coffin (FIJ-Captain). Also playing in the Event were a U14 Boys and Girls Team from Guam. The Guam Girl’s Team was Faith Perera, Leah San Augustin and Rachel San Augustin. The Guam Boy’s Team was Jacob Hsiao, Camelo Chen and Jeren De Vera.

The Pacific U14 Girls Team were beaten by the Maldives 2-1 with Alexandria Chand winning her singles match; they also lost to Indonesia 3-0, Turkmenistan 2-0 (doubles not played) and Sri Lanka 2-0 (doubles not played). The only match won by Pacific Oceania was against Macau 3-0.

The Guam U14 Girl’s Team lost to Sri Lanka 3-0, Kyrgyzstan 3-0, Macau 2-1 but beat Iraq 3-0.

The Boy’s U14 Team lost to Nepal 2-1, Macau 2-0 and Oman 2-1.
