The Pacific Oceania Davis Cup Team of Clement Mainguy (VAN) Gillian Osmont (TAH), Heve Kelley (TAH) and Matavao Fanguna (TON-playing captain) have been beaten 4-0 (final singles not played) in Santa Tecla, El Salvador in the World Group II, Play Off 1st Round.
On the second day, the hosts and 4th seeds, El Salvador were too strong with the El Salvador Doubles Pair of Marcelo Arevalo /Cesar Cruz beating Matavao Fanguna/Gillian Osmont 6-3,6-1. Arevalo has been ranked as high at 5th in the World in Doubles (currently 20th) and achieved an ITF Singles Ranking of 8.
In the dead singles rubber Juan Carlos Fuentes Vasquez beat Matavao Fanguna (TON) 6-0, 6-3.
Pacific Oceania will now play in the World Group III Event later this year.
