On the opening day of play in the World Group II Davis Cup Play Off Tie, Pacific Oceania lost both singles matches to end the day with El Salvador leading Pacific Oceania 2-0. In the opening match the #1 Pacific Oceania player, Gilles Osmont (TAH) lost to the #2 El Salvador player, Diego Duran, 6-3, 6-0. In the 2nd Singles match the #2 Pacific Oceania player, Heve Helley (TAH) lost to the #1 El Salvador player, Marcelo Arevalo-Gonzalez, 6-0, 6-2.
