The Billie Jean King Cup Team have convincingly beaten 4th seeds, Hong Kong China, 3-0 on the Opening Day of Pool Play. Violet Apisah got the Tie off to the perfect start beating Man Ying Maggie Ng 7-5, 6-2. Then Carol Lee beat the #1 player from Hong Kong China, Ho Ching Wu, 6-4, 6-3 to give Pacific Oceania an unassailable lead. They both the combined in the Doubles to beat the same 2 players, Man Yin Maggie Ng and Ho Ching Wu 7-6(10), 6-2.
