Saoirse Breen Gains Her First WTA Point

Saoirse Breen (FIJ) has had a historic moment this week in Monastir, Tunisia in gaining her first WTA Point, In the ITF W25 event after she won through 3 rounds of qualifying. In her first match, she had a lucky break when her opponent, Lara Charles (AUS) retired with an injury with the score 3-1. Then in her 2nd round qualifying match, she prevailed against Luna Plaza Araujo (BRA) 6-4, 3-6, 10-7. In her 3rd and final round qualifying match she convincingly beat Ferdaous Bahri (TUN) 6-3, 6-1.

Then in her 1st round main draw match, she played Isabella Shinikova from Bulgaria. Her highest World Ranking was 133 in Singles and 159 in Doubles. She lost this match 6-2, 6-3 This is the link to the event.
