Pacific Oceania Lose Davis Cup Tie 3-2

Entering Day 2 of the World Group II, Davis Cup Tie against Barbados in Bridgetown, Barbados with the Tie levelled 1-1, The Pacific Oceania Davis Cup Team had high expectations. This wasn’t to be as Barbados beat Pacific Oceania 3-2 on Day 2 with ascendency in the Tie oscillating back and forth.

The Pacific Oceania Davis Cup Doubles team of Brett Baudinet (CI)/Colin Sinclair (NMI) got the day off to the perfect start beating the Barbados doubles pairing of Matthew Foster-Estwick/Darian King in a thrilling 3-set match 4-6, 7-6(4), 7-5 to take the Tie to a 2-1 Pacific Oceania lead https://www.daviscup.com/en/draws-results/tie.aspx?id=M-DC-2023-WG2-PO-BAR-POC-01.

Then Colin Sinclair played Darian King, formerly ranked 106, and after 1 hour 41minutes, Darian King prevailed 7-6(6), 6-3 to level the Tie at 2-2. The tie then came down to the 5th rubber between Clement Mainguy (VAN) and Kaipo Marshall. Clement Mainguy started the match perfectly winning the 1st set 6-4, but then lost the last 2 sets for Kaipo Marshall to win the match 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 and Barbados the Tie 3-2.
