ITF Awards For “Services to the Game.”

During the 2023 Australian Open, presentations were made to both Barry McMillan and Ian Barclay of the ITF Award for “Services to the Game.” For the last 26 years Barry McMillan held 2 key roles assisting the OTF in its Development and Administration since the OTF’s inception in 1993. He was the OTF’s Honorary Auditor for 20 years 1999-2019. He was Tennis Australia Delegate Member to the Board from 1993-1999. President of Tennis South Australia 1982-1984; South Australia Tennis Board Member 1979-1981; Member of the Board of Tennis Australia 1982-1984.

Ian Barclay coached a number of Victorian and Australian Junior Champions, singles and doubles, most notably Pat Cash. He was National Junior Coach for the Lawn Tennis Association for nine years before returning to Australia. As of 2010 was still coaching and involved with junior development programs with Tennis Australia. Coached over 20 Grand
Slam junior title winners and over 40 national and international junior and senior title winners in two different countries. His awards include; 2011 Order of Australia Medal For Services to the Sport of Tennis; 2012 Tennis Australia Presidents Spirit of Tennis Award; 2016 Tennis Coaches Australia – Victoria Awarded Legend Status; 2013 Tennis Coaches Australia – Victoria Hall of Fame Inductee; 2007 Tennis Coaches Australia – Victoria Coach of The Year Award; 2011 – 12 Tennis Victoria – Victorian Spirit of Tennis Award.
