Tennis Fiji Win Their First Ever Women’s Pacific Games Tennis Medal

The Tennis Fiji Women’s Team have made history in winning the first ever Women’s Pacific Games Medal in Tennis. The Fiji Team of Saoirse Breen, Ruby Coffin, Grace Debalevu, William O’Connell (captain), Rajiv Singh (Manager) won the Silver Medal losing the Gold/Silver Medal Teams Event Final to the very strong Papua New Guinea Team 2-0 with the Doubles not played.

  • Violet Apisah (PNG) def Saoirse Breen (FIJ) 6-2, 6-1
  • Abigail Tere-Apisah (PNG) def Ruby Coffin (FIJ) 6-0, 6-0

The Tongan Women’s Team beat the Northern Mariana Islands Women’s Team to win the Bronze Medal. Results here

In the Men’s Teams Event, Northern Mariana Island won the Gold, Vanuatu the Silver and Tahiti the Bronze Medal. Results here.
