Two Oceania Tennis Players Selected to Play in U14 Wimbledon Championships next Month.

Two Oceania Tennis Players, one boy and one girl (with their coaches) have been selected to play in the fully funded (airfares, accommodation, meals, transfers, transportation, accreditation) inaugural 14U Championships at Wimbledon from the 7th-10th July 2022. The 2 players selected are La Hunn Lam (NMI) in the Boy’s Event with his coach, Jeff Race and Aishi Das (NZL) in the girl’s event with her coach, Celine Schneider.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) have established this event because they want to see juniors being able to compete on grass earlier in their careers than is currently the case. The 14U Boy’s and Girl’s Events (16 draw) will showcase the best 14U players from each of the 6 ITF Regions plus the 4 Grand Slam Nations.

The format will initially be Round Robin with 4 groups of 4 players in each pool with the 1st place in each pool progressing to the knockout semi-finals and finals. The final will be played on the last day of the Wimbledon Championships on Sunday 10th July. The 2 Oceania players will arrive on the Sunday of the 1st week of the Championships and stay until at least Sunday late afternoon of week 2 of The Championships or the until Monday after the 14U Championships has finished.
