Tennis Australia is pleased to announce the Australian Open 2020 Asia-Pacific Wildcard Play-off and Junior Asia-Pacific Wildcard Play-off (3 – 8 December 2019). This is the eighth year of the event and it provides a great opportunity for players from the Asia-Pacific region to win a wildcard and participate in the main draw of Australian Open 2020 in Melbourne!
Tournament Director, Isabelle Gemmel advises that the event will be staged for the fourth consecutive year in Zhuhai and be hosted at the world class Hengqin International Tennis Center. The venue plays host to the WTA Elite Trophy and also this year for the first time to the Zhuhai Championships, an ATP Tour 250 event. Zhuhai is located in Guangdong Province in Southern China and is easily accessible from airports in mainland China, as well as Hong Kong, Macau and Guangzhou.
The fact sheets for each of the events and entry forms will be circulated in due course. It will contain further information to assist your travel plans to Zhuhai.
Entry will then open for players from the region with a Men’s and Women’s Singles ranking of 105+. Juniors’ players with a ranking of 100+ are eligible to enter.
