2 Pacific Oceania Players Competing in the WTA Future Stars Event in Singapore

Two Pacific Players, Saoirse Breen (FIJ) and Brookie Ma’asi (TGA) are this week competing respectively in the U14 and U16 WTA Future Stars Event on the hard courts at the Kallang Tennis Centre in Singapore. Gilles de Gouy (TAH) is their coach/manager.

The format is a Round Robin with 4 groups of 6 players.

U14 FUture StarsU16 Future Stars

The winner from each group will qualify for a single elimination draw for semi-finals and finals. Match scoring will be the best of 3 sets with no-ad scoring in the first 2 sets and a 10 point tie-break as the 3rd set. In this Event on-Court Coaching will be utilized as per WTA Procedures so both players will welcome the assistance and input from Gilles. Seeding for the event has been based on the ITF Junior World Rankings as at 16 October 2017.

Saoirse Breen has commenced well winning her match against Lerr Min Lim (SIN) 61,75.
