Pacific Oceania Davis Cup and Fed Cup Teams Stumble at the Final Hurdle

Both Pacific Oceania Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams lost yesterday in their final round robin pool matches. In the Davis Cup Pacific Oceania lost to Jordan in a close Tie 2-1. Heve Kelley was beaten in the opening singles 57, 61, 76 before Colin Sinclair levelled the tie at 1 rubber all with a comprehensive win 61,60. In the deciding doubles Brett Baudinet/Aymeric Mara lost 64,64. In the Fed Cup Pacific Oceania lost to 2nd seeds, Hong Kong, in a very tightly fought Tie 3-0 with the final score line not reflecting the closeness. Steffi Carruthers lost her singles 75,63; Abigail Tere-Apisah similarly 64,64 and Carol Lee/Mayka Zima lost the doubles 64,64. The results from yesterday can be accessed here results.
