14 And Under Circuit Final Results

The ITF Development Officer, Darran Wrighton, writes ” I want to thank everyone who has made the 14 and under Circuit possible in 2015/2016.

In the 2015/2016 circuit we had a total of 14 Nations being involved with 51 boys and 33 girls entering the events. There were 8 events in total including the three Regional Championships and the POJC.

Congratulators to our circuit winners:

Girls: Eleanor Schuster – Samoa
Boys: Robbie Schorr – Northern Marianas Islands

They will both receive a $500 travel grant to be used for attending tennis events in the Pacific or towards the costs of attending a GSDF Tour. Both these players also won the 14 and under event at the POJC.

A special mention to Mailka Miywaki (NMI) who right up until the POJC was in contention for being the circuit winner. Only 10 points separated her and Eleanor Schuster and had she placed one position higher in the POJC she would have taken the number 1 position on the leader board. This demonstrates that a player can be a circuit winner if they have consistent results in each of the events that they play.

The first two events of the next circuit year start in December. (or potentially October if we can get some support for a New Caledonian event)

The ITF will be lending financial support to players that featured in the POJC in the 12’s and 14’s Category as well as some other players that are being targeted as potential top national players for these age groups.”
