5th Commonwealth Youth Games Enters Final Stages in Samoa

The 5th Commonwealth Youth Games have just concluded in Samoa with 985 athletes aged from 14-18 years old from 65 countries competing for 107 Gold medals in 9 sports. These sports are Swimming, Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Lawn Bowls, Rugby Sevens, Squash, Tennis and Weightlifting.

27 countries entered the tennis event, with Amy Elliott/Courtney Grube (Norfolk Island) winning the Bronze Medal in the Girls Doubles, Simoana Ruepena/Lyla Tapusoa(Samoa) winning the Silver medal in the same event and (Violet Apisah/Matthew Stubbings (Papua New Guinea) winning the Bronze Medal in the Mixed Doubles. Violet Apisah (Papua New Guinea) also won the Bronze Medal in the Girls Singles.
